Jay Jay the Jet Plane: Jon was Director of Photography and Lighting Director on the original Jay Jay the Jet Plane series. He also carved the original Jay Jay and Big Jake models for the original screen test program. Both of these models he carved now sit in a glass case, along with the other fiberglass aircraft characters, in show creator David Mitchell’s north Dallas office.
Perot for President: For the last months of the 1992 U. S. presidential race and all of the 1996 U. S. presidential race, Jon built the sets, did the lighting and almost all of the videography for Ross Perot’s run for the presidency. Ross has a slight squint in his right eye, and if not lit properly, he looked a bit like Popeye. Jon came up with a lighting plan to remedy this, and thus, Jon was the only person on planet Earth allowed to light Ross for any media associated with his 1996 campaign run.
